Pro-Biafrans are celebrating something today

While Nigerians marked Democracy Day on May 29, pro-Biafrans from all over the world are expected to celebrate the fallen heroes and heroines of Biafra on Monday, May 30.

A “peaceful remembrance march” will be held in Anambra for those who died during the Biafra/ Nigeria civil war of 1967 to 1970 and those who died during IPOB’s “peaceful protest and evangelism in Anambra, Aba Abia, Rivers and Delta states.”

IPOB’s Media and Publicity Officer, Emma Powerful, released a statement to this effect, where he noted that the peaceful remembrance march will also be used to honour, remind and reassure leader and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnandi Kanu, that he remains in the hearts of his disciples.

“IPOB family meetings worldwide invites all electronic and print media companies and international medias to the Remembrance day of Biafra fallen heroes on 30th of May 2016.”

“We are also calling on all the clans in Biafra, be you Izon (ljaw), Isoko, Ishekiri, Efik, Ibibio, Idoma, Isobo, Igede, Igala, Igboakiri (Igbanke), Igbos and others to come out and be part of the peaceful even. People will gather at IPOB organized centres all over the world to show their respect, but all those in Biafra land should attend the gathering in Anambra state.”

And just in case the Nigerian security agencies have forgotten, IPOB thought it wise to remind them that they are not law-breakers nor violent.

“We are therefore, calling on the Governor of Anambra State and Chief Security Officer of the state, Chief Willie Obiano, Commissioner of Police, Army Commander and Navy Commander to call their men and security agents to order, because we are a non-violent organization that is bent on the restoration of Biafra and nobody born of a woman can stop us, because this is the project of Chukwuokike Abiama (God Almighty).”
