“They don’t respect the church” || Another cleric is unhappy with Amaechi, APC over N7bn bribery claim

Another pastor is angry with Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, over the N7 billion bribery allegation he made against the Christian Association of Nigeria.

Amaechi had accused CAN of receiving N7 billion bribe from the Presidency to mobilise support against his party’s presidential candidate, Maj-Gen Muhammadu Buhari (rtd).

The displeased cleric is the General Overseer of Resurrection Praise Ministries International, Archbishop Samson Benjamin.

Benjamin has challenged Governor Amaechi to come produce evidence of where and when the money was given to clerics and who benefited from the alleged largesse.

While addressing journalists in Lagos, on Wednesday, March 11, Benjamin said he was speaking on behalf of CAN, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and Apostolic Movement.

He said the Presidency did not at any time offer bribe to the Christian body as alleged by APC.

“Ameachi said that pastors were given N6 billion to turn around. I challenge Governor Amaechi to come out and say where and when the money was collected. Dragging the names of our fathers in the Lord to the mud, will never be allowed by us. A man must come out and stand by his father. That is exactly why I have come out to stand by our fathers, that they are men of integrity.”

“APC is taking propaganda too far. They are desecrating the temple of God. They don’t respect the church. I am saying enough is enough. APC should leave Christians alone. APC should leave CAN leadership alone.”
