The Special Adviser (Media & Publicity) to President Goodluck Jonathan,  Reuben Abati has lost his mother.

Abati’s mother, Madam Maria Taiwo Abati died at the age of 81.

In a statement, the family said:

“With a heavy heart and gratitude to God Almighty, the Abati family of Kemta-Okebode, Abeokuta announces the passing away of their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Madam Maria Taiwo Abati who passed into glory today, aged 81.”

She was fondly called Mama Adunni or Mama Sunday and her family has described her as a devout Christian, a very kind and loving person.

Mama Adunni who is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was born on August 7, 1931.
