How Senator Abaribe helped pro-Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu fulfil his bail conditions

by Dolapo Adelana

Details have emerged that the senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, Enyinnaya Abaribe signed the bond to help secure the bail of the leader of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Abaribe was seen on Friday at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High court in Abuja to sign as surety for Kanu, an Abia indigene, in fulfilment of one of the several bail conditions slammed on him by Justice Binta Nyarko on Wednesday, 26 April 2017.

According to Abaribe, “I came here to sign the bail bond for Nnamdi Kanu. You recall that one of the conditions for his bail is that a Senator will have to sign for him and that is why I am here. I just signed the bail bond.”

On whether there was any hope that the IPOB leader would be released, he said, “obviously, all the conditions that have been put forward for his bail are largely being fulfilled because at the point in which I was also signing, the head of his Judaism Church was also there to sign.

“And also, another prominent Nigerian who has landed property as required is also there. It is my belief that he will be released now that we have fulfilled all the bail conditions.”

Recall that Kanu left the premises of Kuje prison Friday evening in company of Osita Chidoka, a former Aviation minister.
