Guaranty Trust Bank has launched a ‘Social Banking’ service using the social networking site, Facebook, as a platform. The service will allow customers to open bank accounts and receive quality customer support on the platform.

According to Segun Agbaje, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, the innovative service will enable the financial institution service its customers wherever they are.

He reportedly said, “This novel service presently allows people open GTBank accounts and get customer service support on Facebook and in a couple of weeks we will introduce new service options that include money transfers, airtime purchases and bills payments.”
