A viral video has surfaced on social media showing the great lengths (in the opinion of many) sportsmen and athletes could go to secure their career and ensure their body is in peak shape.

Timelines on Twitter are currently full of banter after a video revealed Manchester United player, Angel Gomes, at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) requesting healing. Widely known for his deliverance sessions, with a lot of viral videos on the internet, Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly known as T. B. Joshua, is a charismatic pastor and Founder of the Synagogue Church.

In a recent viral video of a deliverance session involving T.B Joshua and the person of “Lucifer” in the form of a woman, jokes and mockery followed the video as many ridiculed the “Man of God’s power.” So it was no surprise when the Angel Gomes video became public on Monday night, Nigerians saw it and delved into making fun, throwing opinions on the matter:

Adilson Angel Abreu de Almeida Gomes, simply known as Angel Gomes, is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Premier League club, Manchester United. In the video, the young footballer was seen at the institution asking T.B Joshua to heal his legs. He specifically said in the video: “I had been really struggling with injuries.”

From reactions to the video, a large number of people seem to think that the Man of God fakes his deliverances and that the whole sessions are staged. Many were quick to crack jokes about Gomes bringing other underperforming and injured Manchester United players to the Synagogue for healing.

Angel Gomes as of now has hit troubled waters, and the renewal of his contract with Manchester United has been considerably stalled. Many pointed out this fact saying T.B Joshua did not do the deliverance successfully. Others asked why T.B Joshua did not heal those suffering from coronavirus but can heal a premier league player.

Others have corrected this notion and declared that the video was actually taken in 2016. around which Gomes signed his first professional contract with Manchester United. Some threw judgement at those who mocked the football player saying everyone is entitled to their beliefs and should not be mocked for it.

The Player has himself come out to clear the air and confirm that the video was from 2016.
