Three suspected Boko Haram members have reportedly been blown up while in the process of preparing bombs.
The incident took place in Maidiguri, where Boko Haram has been attacking and burning down schools for the past week.
Col. Victor Ebhaleme, the Field Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO), told newsmen in Maiduguri that the incident happened at about 10.30 a.m. Thursday, at a factory in the Kaleri area of Maiduguri.
Officers of the JTF were alerted by members of the public who had heard the explosion.
“On arrival, our men discovered mutilated bodies of three persons, suspected to be Boko Haram militants,” he said. “Apparently, they died while preparing the bombs…Several bomb making apparatus were also found in the house.”
The JTF boss urged residents to always alert the Force with useful information on suspicious movements in their locality, as security was a collective business.
