[The Activism Blog] Gates Foundation praises Nigeria on polio immunisation report

Despite the gale of dark cloud hovering over the country, there’s something to cheer.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) owned by Billionaire businessman Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda, the University of Minnesota and the United States Centre for Infectious Disease Research and Policy have commended Nigeria for transparency in the latest world annual report of data on routine immunisation and polio eradication.

This should help boost the country’s image in the international scene.

Polio meningitis has killed a lot of Nigerian children in the Northern part of the country and the Federal Government’s commitment to eradicating the disease is yielding fruits with local support from the Dangote Foundation in partnership with the Gates Foundation.
