Elisah Abbo apologises for assault, begs for forgiveness
The embattled senator representing Adamawa North senatorial district, Elisha Abbo, has publicly apologised to Nigerians for assaulting a woman. On Monday, Premium Times published a footage showing Abbo assaulting the woman at an adult toy shop in Abuja. The assault, which occurred on May 11, was done in the presence of an armed policeman, who rather than assisting the victim, arrested her.
Obaseki reshuffles cabinet, drops eight commissioners
The gulf between Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Governor Godwin Obaseki appeared deepened following the sack of eight Commissioners in the state executive council. Obaseki sacked the commissioners after he returned from Abuja. He appointed immediate past Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Kabiru Adjoto as Special Adviser.
Buhari dragged to court over delay in ministerial appointment
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has been urged to compel President Buhari to immediately appoint ministers as stipulated by law to kick-start the running of the government.
In a suit filed by a Lagos lawyer, Mr Kabir Akingbolu, he was asking the court to declare that the failure of President Buhari to “appoint requisite number of ministers as stipulated by the law” is a breach of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, of attempting to impose leaders on his colleagues.
Reacting to the fresh crisis rocking the lower legislative chamber of the national assembly over minority leadership position, Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP spokesman, said it was improper for Gbajabiamila to go against the choice of the leadership of the party.
Onwuka, leader of pan Biafra Group, released one year after incarceration
Leader of the pan Biafran group, Biafra Zionist Federation (BZM) Benjamin Onwuka has been released from prison. Onwuka was arrested on August 20, 2018 in Enugu by security operatives during one of his groups Biafra agitation activities and was kept incommunicado for several months.
