City police have charged a brother and sister with breaking into a home in November and stealing some $3,700 in jewelry, an agency spokeswoman said.

Todd Brown, 25, of Bens Drive in Annapolis, has been charged with first- and fourth degree burglary as well as theft of under $10,000. Sister Sheray Brown, 22, of Marcs Court, has been charged with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, as well as theft of under $10,000, according to online court records.

The burglary occurred between Nov. 15 and 16 in the first block of Randall Court. Police said at the time that someone forced open a window at the home where a 75-year-old woman was living.

Police were able to link the siblings to the burglary through pawn shop records, police spokeswoman Cpl. Amy Miguez said.

Both Browns were arrested Dec. 7. Both have since been released after posting a $20,000 bond, police said.

The home is on the same block as Ward 1 Alderman Joe Budge’s home, that was also burgled in the same weekend. Budge told police that someone forced open a door and stole an envelope containing some $500 in cash.

Police said at the time that they believed the burglaries to be related. Miguez said on Friday that police are still investigating to determine whether the Browns were responsible for that burglary as well.
