Sometime last year, president Buhari proceeded on his very first medical trip to London to fix an ear infection. On January 19th, he travelled abroad again for a 10 day ‘routine medical check up’, but when the deadline of February 5th passed, the presidency couldn’t quite say when he would return. Instead, we were flooded with memos that the president was ‘hale and hearty’.
When president Buhari eventually returned on March 10th, it was evident to all that nothing could be further from the truth. The president looked gaunt and confessed to Nigerians that he had never been ‘so ill in his life before’.
Future events soon proved the truth of the president’s statements. He missed Federal Executive Council meetings for a month. He was no longer seen in public. Nigerians raised quite the outrage on Twitter on Workers Day and then the president made his first reappearance at Aso Rock’s mosque last week Friday. In the video that was released, the president could be seen staggering as he made his way out of the Mosque.

[In case you missed it]: “Excitement and distrust trail the public reappearance of president Buhari”
He has now travelled to London again ‘on the advice of his doctors’ and Nigerians have differing opinions about this line of action.
Do see below:
