This is another senseless tragedy | Obama reacts to Las Vegas shooting

Former U.S. President Barack Obama has expressed his thoughts and prayers to the victims of Sunday night’s shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas which killed at least 50 and over 400 people have now been confirmed injured.

Writing on his Twitter page, Obama said, “Michelle & I are praying for the victims in Las Vegas. Our thoughts are with their families & everyone enduring another senseless tragedy”.

The gunman, identified as Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old white male shot during the last performance of the three-day Route 91 country music festival late Sunday night.

Paddock, whom Police said has been in the hotel room since Sept 28 is believed to have carried out the attack from the same hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.

Earlier today, President Trump sent a condolence message to the families of the victims of the shooting, while Jason Aldean, one of the performers at the festival said the shooting was “beyond horrific”.
