‘I won’t use your money to marry more wives’ | This is one of Sylva’s campaign promises

There should be a political satire show on Channels, AIT, NTA, STV… and the likes, and it should be called- ‘Politicians say the darnedest things’.

Forgive us for expecting a politician to make ‘only’ tangible promises during electioneering, even if they’re flat-out lies.

Forgive us for expecting Timipre Sylva to stick to promises like ‘creation of employment opportunities for the youth and an enabling environment for investors’.

But the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate didn’t stop there. He ventured into the tasteless route.

While addressing over 2,000 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party, in Sagbama, Bayelsa, on Monday, Sylva said: “A new day is dawning over Bayelsa State. I want to assure you that I am now readier than before to govern you.

I equally want to assure you that I will not use your money to marry more wives as some people are doing. I will also promise not to take another man’s wife. All those will go with the PDP administration.”
