Every day on the Nigerian Internet, there are people who keep our eyes glued to our phone screens as we read their rants, opinions, perspectives on political and social matters, etc. Sometimes, they are just downright ridiculous. We make it our job to take down the names of these noisemakers.
So Sterling Bank took time out to produce an artwork to make a statement, in the process “dragging” some other banks in the mud.
It began this way…

Then…
Heading to the moon without a spacesuit…journey mercies🚶🏾♂️🚶🏾♂️#simplersmarterSAFERbanking

And what the ‘forefathers’ came up with:
… And straight into the trash can. #RespectYourElders #MoveOver #NextPlease #YouFirst pic.twitter.com/tkyZe9FVgc

Then the epistle…
We will travel on an imaginary rocket too, if we were a one-customer Microfinance Bank; but with ten million customers and counting, we rather bring the galaxy to you! #YouAreWorthIt #TakeTomorrow #KnowYourElders pic.twitter.com/pBGuW8JaLo

Of course, Nigerian Twitter has reacted.
Here’s the list:
1. Omojuwa
One-Customer Micro Finance bank is a massive shade. Note that Sterling Bank uses, 'Your One customer bank.' They played on that. Solid craft. 50 points.

2. AbdulAziz Bakare
Nigerian Banks are happily subbing themselves on Twitter. Sterling Bank subs Union Bank, Access Bank, GT Bank and FirstBank. Union Bank responded, First Bank still preparing their response, Access Bank showed no mercy in their response, GT Bank is still quiet… 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/nVsMxY2lD9

Don’t mind them. Let them be doing Adeosun style there.
Or:
Who knows? GT Bank is trying to think outside the box. Let's give them time 😆 #BankWars pic.twitter.com/rV0ewvhVnE

GTBank hasn't replied Sterling Bank yet probably looking for how to charge us for it

Ahah! You people sef.
But why is GT Bank keeping mute? Are they really planning how much they want to charge for the dissing session?

Some people are just too serious?.
Reprimanded kwa? Shey lori publicity stunt?
5. Afrikkan Woman
I hope GTBank knows that they have to reply Sterling bank now that the sub is still hot. They should not come and bring one dry tweet tomorrow all in the name of sub o else I withdraw the remain #850 I have with dem!

They’re probably consulting with a PR agency before they reply.
Better late than ever (how do people believe that sef?). Anyway, we wait.

7. Abitogun Folagbade
Alert!!!
Don't use Sterling bank ATM card in any of GTBank, Access bank, First bank and Union bank ATMs from tonight till Tuesday.
You will have to go and beg on behalf of Sterling bank to get your card back 😂😂😂#BankWars

10. 9ja witches
See how fast all these banks are responding to subs.
Go to the bank now & try to transact or make a complaint, you’ll be seeing long queue like line drawn from Ikot Ekpene to Sapele 🤨🤨🤨#BankWars pic.twitter.com/4NmVapDoYJ
— KOBZ (@AgbaKobz) July 21, 2018
E ma da won loun.
But how did you think of Ikot Ekpene though? ?
Anyway, it’s just like Segalink says:
GTBank, FirstBank, UBA, and Union Bank all hold ‘Corporate Holy Ghost Conventions’ in their banking Halls across Nigeria all through the week yet they want to throw shade at a One Customer Bank with zero “ESSENCO” Queues? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/3IFCv6pYPS

How will this end? We’re patient in Nigeria. We’ll wait.
