This tweet reminds us of President Buhari’s current state – dumb

by Titilayo Ade-Ogbo

Where is President Buhari?

This, right here, is one question Nigerians have been unable to answer for weeks now. True, the Nigerian President has made news everyday since his uneventful return from the United Kingdom after a prolonged holiday, that later turned out to be a sick leave.

And, in the weeks that followed his return, President Buhari seemed up and doing. He appointed new heads of 23 federal agencies, appointed two new Supreme Court justices, he ordered the release of the second tranche of the London-Paris Club refunds to states and a few more presidential duties. Nothing exceptional.

But then, silence.

Save for the occasional appearance at Friday Jumat services at the Presidential Villa. Even Governor Fayose, (who we aren’t particularly eager to agree with,) weighed in with the perfect description for the situation. He referred to Buhari as a ceremonial and part-time president. Apt!

We came across this viral tweet and what it did was simply remind us our president has been awkwardly silent regardless of the presidency’s (whoever this is) attempts to fool us into thinking all is well over at Aso Rock.

And no, we’re not making things up. The president was nowhere to be seen at the Federal Executive Council meeting earlier today, and he’s missed out for three consecutive weeks.

Not only is the president not talking, he’s gone into hiding.
