A police station in Gombe, the capital of Gombe State is confirmed under siege, alongside different locations in the city.
Details are murky but explosions and exchange of gunfire are reported.
A citizen correspondent (name withheld) for YNaija who works in a bank in the state reports being stuck in the office and unable to speak as citizens hide away in fear.
According to the citizen, who sent in a text message, “We dey total darkness inside heavy shooting, but no more bomb. Abeg I need your prayers – I wan piss for body.”
There is a total blackout in various parts of the city, reports have indicated.
It would be recalled that no fewer than 15 people were injured in an explosion that occurred at a hotel located on the outskirts of Gombe at the end of December. This followed a similar incident at a police base in October.
YNaija continues to monitor developments as we all pray for Gombe.
