(UPDATED) APC Senate caucus sacks Ndume as its leader

The All Progressives Congress in the Senate has sacked Senate Majority Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, as its leader.

In a letter to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Tuesday, the caucus said it has appointed Ahmed Lawan as its new leader.

Ndume while speaking with journalists said he was not aware of his removal.

Ndume had said the Senate did not reject Ibrahim Magu as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

But the Senate in a statement said reiterating that Magu’s appointment has been rejected.
