Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno has threatened to open up on the true position of things in his state if pushed to do so.

The governor whose state appears to be under a siege by the Boko Haram Islamic militant sect told protesters in Abuja that there is little a governor can do in combating the menace of terrorism.

Shettima said this moments ago when protesters, led by former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili, visited him the Borno State Governor’s Lodge to register their displeasure over the slow response of government to plight of over 230 girls kidnapped from a school in Chibok, Borno.

“Leadership calls for restraint. Believe me, if I should speak, heads will roll,” he said.

He spoke further saying no governor is in control of the army, police, or civil defence.

The governor went further to confirm that several of the abducted girls have been identified in the video released yesterday by the Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, putting the number at thirty six.

All of the girls in the video have been identified as student of Government Secondary School, Chibok. And 36 of the girls have been identified by their parents.

The identities of the parents involved were, however, not disclosed by the governor.

However, CNN just revealed that not all the girls in the video shown by Boko Haram was taken on April 14 as some of the relatives of the missing girls could not identify most of them in the footage.

According to a report by human rights lawyer Femi Falana to CNN, only two parents were able to identify their daughters and other girls may have been taken in abductions dating back to two years.
