During the recent trip of Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO to Nigeria, he took a short break from the country for a brief visit to Kenya.
While there, he met with the Kenyan President and even savoured one of their native meals at a local restaurant in the country’s capital, Nairobi.
While the Kenyans were still gloating over the rare privilege that Zuckerberg chose them over other African countries especially Ghana, the Zuck returned to Nigeria, then the Twitter war resumed.
The #KenyansVsNigerians has been a thing on Twitter for years now and it is uncertain what the root cause of this ageless social media acrimony is.
Take a look at some of the most brutal tweets we’ve seen from both sides:

Femi Fani-Kayode’s stance on this pettiness is disappointing, to say the least. An elder statesman should not be seen on social media propagating hate and discord alongside young people. Mr Fani-Kayode even went as far as vilifying past Kenyan leaders in the base and contemptible tweets below.
Kenyans should stop attacking Nigeria on twitter. They must know their place. Truth is the worse Nigerian is better than the best Kenyan.

When Kenyan leaders were still doing "mau mau", swinging from trees and eating one another ours were at Oxford and Cambridge university

Truth is that the Kenyans are v far behind us in every respect. I know their history inside out: they are just too small for us.

We usually love social media banter, but this may have gone overboard. This war of words is pointless and ludicrous and we hope someone puts an end to it very soon. It’s no longer funny.
