‘Dada’, is a single off Nigerian born soul singer Layori’s debut album ‘Origin’. The singer popped her singing cherry in front of a 2,000 strong audience at her secondary school, Mayflower, Ikenne in Ogun state. Many years later, this singer has grown, not only to become a beautiful woman but also a wonderful soul singer. In the first few bars of the Jazzy folk single ‘Dada’, sung in Yoruba, Layori blends the different genres of jazz and afro soul, thus entrancing her listeners. As she sings a prayer for good tidings, we feel a reassuring calm. With her sensuous alto, Layori will leave you yearning for more of her heart rendering music. Check out her video below.
