Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has slammed the Federal Government for detaining people without trial.
Kanu, who spoke on Monday after he was arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako said over 2000 detainees are languishing in Kuje prison.
Pointing at the family members of the detainees he said, “These people their people are in detention in DSS custody, they’ve been there for about five years without trial, that’s what they do in this country, very terrible.
“Over two thousand people locked down there without trial and this is not justice in anyway, shape or form.
“Here, people don’t reason. That’s why they are detained. Their children have been there for a very long time.
“Usman Abubakar is in detention; Motab Umar is in detention; and DSS don’t want to bring them to court. Ibrahim Yahaya is there as well, I was there with them. Musa Karamu is also there. For five years they have been in detention.”
