by Panshak Ibrahim

Two female students barely escaped being lynched after being suspected to be suicide bombers.

The incident occurred at the Minna Jumma’at Central Mosque on Friday, December 19.

The students are undergraduates of the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna.

According to eyewitnesses, the ladies arrived the mosque premises when prayer was about to commence and they resisted attempts to search their bags.

The students, who were wearing their hijab, were suspected to be female suicide bombers by members of the public.

Their refusal prompted bystanders to start beating them, until policemen who were on guard around the area intervened, and saved them from lynching.
