UK anti-graft team arrives Nigeria to probe Alison-Madueke’s associates, oil dealers

Suspected allies of former Petroleum Resource Minister, Dieziani Alison-Madueke are set to be probed by the UK National Crime Agency, following the arrival of a 7-man team of the agency to Nigeria for interrogations.

According to SaharaReporters, the team which 4 women and 3 men will probe associates and other individuals linked to the former minister.

It said some of those who will be quizzed are Jide Omokore, who was charged with fraud by the EFCC and Donald Chidi Anamgbo, a California-based lawyer- both who were detained by the EFCC and later granted bail.

“Our source revealed that UK investigators were looking into close to 20 cases against Mrs. Alison-Madueke. However, the case that has the most traction has to do with how the former minister’s alleged used of straw companies to launder billions of dollars. Some of the alleged laundered funds were used to purchase 17 properties in the UK and elsewhere,” the online publication said.

The team will also be investigating oil dealers who allegedly offered large payoffs to Alison-Madueke for oil swap deals.

The UK anti-graft agency had earlier siezed some funds from the former minister, her mother and a close associate.
