A Court of Appeal in Lagos state has confirmed the September 30, 2015 judgment of a Federal High Court in Lagos which sentenced 3 men convicted of terrorism to 25 years in prison each.

After Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court had sentenced the Boko Haram terrorists to prison, the trio had approached the court of appeal to upturn the sentence pleading that it was too heavy.

The appeal court threw the plea out as lacking in merit.

The men were first arraigned in court in November 2013 before getting their respective sentences in Sepember 2014 from Justice Buba.

So what: Based on judicial precedent, it is now likely that terrorists will receive up to 25 years imprisonment when convicted.
