Suicide bombers ‘kill 5’ in Borno

Five people have reportedly been killed at a checkpoint of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the Muna area of Maiduguri, Borno State.

A female suicide bomber reportedly detonated her improvised explosive device (IED) at the checkpoint.

He said the first bomber attacked a vehicle conveying charcoal.

Umar said five people were injured including her co-bomber, while the third bomber fell inside a pit in the process.

Her bomb was reportedly demobilised by the police bomb anti-ordinance personnel that arrived the scene later.

Umar added that those injured during the attack were rushed to an undisclosed hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
