The reason why evil deeds continue to thrive in our society is that when it happens, we don’t trace and exterminate its roots cause; rather we sleep on it and allow it to die a natural death until it rears its head again.
The death of Tagbo Umeike is the latest of such and we believe we must not sleep on this. Despite the fact that many might expect the case to die a natural death, it should not be. Not just because Davido is involved.
The man’s death has raised dust, which should be investigated to the end by the necessary security agencies. The involvement of the police, in this case, will bring a sigh of relief as the Lagos police command under the leadership of commissioner Edgal Imohimi, has raised the bar in recent times with its investigative prowess and it’s expected he would do same with this. As a result, the police is enjoined to find the root cause of Tagbo’s death and bring the perpetrators to book if there are any.
All actors in his death must be made to account for each role played so as to prevent such occurrence and to also help those wrongfully accused to clear their names from the unfortunate incident.
The events surrounding Tagbo’s death has come with lots of unending questions, or how do we describe a situation where a man was dumped in the hospital where he died and in a few hours, videos are being shared online by various individuals alleging the young man drank himself to death while he wasn’t captured drinking in any of the videos?
What was the intention behind the videos, was there a premonition of his death or part of the game plan to cover up for the controversy of his impending death? These and much more have brought interesting dimensions to this issue which must be resolved to bring a meaningful end to this controversy.
Considering all these and many other factors, we must not sleep nor allow this unfortunate incident to die a natural death without getting justice for the man’s memory.
