The Thread: Zaki Biam massacre is deja vu all over again

On Monday, we received with dismay the news of the attack on Zaki Biam yam market in Benue state. But this was not the first time the town of Zaki Biam was set upon. In 2001, under Obasanjo’s watch, soldiers invaded the town in a reprisal attack for the alleged cold blooded murder of 19 soldiers... Read More

Pius Adesanmi: Dino Melaye- 21st-century crook, 17th-century university

by Pius Adesanmi. A fallout of Dinogate: some ABU students and alumni have been roaming the internet with the good news of ABU’s greatness. I have often advocated that misbehaving Nigerian public officials should be dragged to the Eagle Square and flogged publicly. Opinion: The Senate is Nigeria’s number one enemy

by Mu’awiyyah Yusuf Muye Amongst the functions of the Nigerian senate is scrutinising and passing bills into law, and also maintaining oversight of the conduct of government officials. Cheta Nwanze: Nigeria vs Venezuela, and this is not football

by Cheta Nwaze I am caught up in a major conundrum. I grew up in the 1980s and 1990s, on a university campus. Power was near constant in my environment. English was the language of my environment.
