The White House has said US President Donald hasn’t betrayed his commitment to the transgender community.

Trump had in June 2016 wrote, “Thank you to the LGBT community, I will fight for you people”, so when asked why he made the decision, White House said, the decision is about military readiness.

On what happens to those already in service, WH said the administration will work with Department of Defence as implementation takes place.

In his concern for the Obama policy to include transgenders in ot the military, Trump had called it a “expensive and disruptive policy”.
