Boko Haram’s intelligence-gathering better than Nigerian Army – Danjuma

Theophilus Danjuma says Boko Haram gather intelligence better than Nigerian Army | YNaija.com

A retired Lieutenant-General, Theophilus Danjuma, has made a startling claim, that Boko Haram insurgents are more capable in intelligence-gathering, than the Nigerian military.

Danjuma, said on Tuesday, that the insurgents have sleeper-cells within the civilian population, hence their edge against the Nigerian army.

The one-time Army Chief, said Boko Haram’s new strategy of the attacking soft targets is effective because their agents within civilians, have the opportunity of carrying out surveillance and gathering intelligence.

Danjuma was quoted to have said this at the opening of the new secretariat for the Catholic Diocese built by the Bishop Matthew Kukah.

“When Boko Haram openly denounced all religions, Muhammadu Buhari called them terrorists and urged all Muslims to consider them as such.”

“Later, some who chose to remain on the fence realised the threat posed to all and reluctantly joined in condemning Boko Haram.

“Having sleeping cells among the generality of the population has made them have intelligence capability that is 100 percent better than that of our security agencies.”
