There are confirmed reports of a bomb blast in the centre of Abuja.
The incident reportedly happened at the vicinity of Nyanya bridge with an unspecified number of people dead.
Reports say a car in the area was rigged with bomb causing the explosion but we are yet to get official confirmation of this.
Several dead bodies litter the blood spattered park and the expressway leading to the city.
Some of the dead victims and the injured are being taken to the hospital by ambulances and police vans, the Vehicle Inspection Office, Federal Road Safety Commission.
According to an online news platform based in the Federal Capital City, Abuja, the noise of the blast was heard at adjourning areas of AY, Asokoro, Nyanya and Karu.
