President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Abubakar Abba Bello as the Managing Director of the Nigeria Export-Import Bank (NEXIM).

In a statement released by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and signed by the director of press, Bolaji Adebiyi, Buhari also approved the appointment of Bala Mohammed Bello as the Executive Director, Corporate Services and Stella Okotete as Executive Director, Business Development.

Their appointments are with immediate effect.

Nigeria’ NEXIM Bank is a short and medium term loans provider to Nigerian exporters. It also provides short-term guarantees for loans granted by Nigerian Banks to exporters as well as credit insurance against political and commercial risks in the event of non-payment by foreign buyers. The Bank is also the government’s National Guarantor under the ECOWAS Inter-state Road Transit programme.
