Church security guards arraigned for stealing 100 litres of diesel

Two men, were on Thursday, docked by an Ikeja Magistrate’s court for allegedly stealing 100 litres of diesel from the Daystar Christian Centre at Oregun, Ikeja.

The suspects identified as Felix Richard (26) and Lucky Ikiedemhe (26) have been arraigned before Magistrate Abimbola Makanju-Oshodi on a two-count charge of conspiracy to steal and stealing. Both church security guards reside at 35, Oyinlola Street,  Ipaja and 16, Adeniyi Jones, Ogba respectively.

According to reports filed by the police prosecutor, Inspector Samson Ekikere, the said defendants committed the alleged crime on August 24, 2013, at about 10:35pm, at Oregun, Ikeja.

He said the defendants, while inside the church premises, conspired to steal 100 litres of diesel belonging to Daystar Christian Centre.

Police prosector confirmed that, the head of the security guard of the church caught the defendants while they were trying to smuggle out the diesel from the church compound.

The prosecutor said the offence committed contravened Section 409 and punishable under Section 285 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

When the charge was read to the defendants, they pleaded not guilty.

  1. The pastor should forgive them because him also have committed sin before and God forgive him so he should let them go for them not to stain his church. And you know nigeria is not what happen you will here again, so please pastor remove the case from court and free them
