According to a statement signed by the spokesperson of the DSS, Tony Opuiyo, the security agency successfully aborted a planned attack on some oil installations in the Niger Delta region and arrested the masterminds of the planned attack.

The statement noted that the DSS also arrested more than 15 kidnappers around the country, including the abductors of the wife of the Personal Assistant to the Transport Minister, Igo Chinda.

The agency noted that the arrests were made as part of ‘series of special tactical operations’ that led to the breakdown of criminal activities.
