Mariah Carey and her backup dancer boyfriend have broken up

In February, Mariah Carey confirmed to the press that she and her backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka were truly dating after rumours of their romance made rounds late last year.

Now the two have called it quits because Mariah needs to focus on her music and children.

Although other reports have it that the breakup is as a result of Mariah’s relationship with ex-husband, Nick Cannon, Cannon has cleared the air saying, “I got too many of my own relationship issues to be worried about an old relationship…At the end of the day, she’s an amazing mother and we focus on our kids. That’s never going to change no matter who’s in my life or who’s in her life. We have kids together, so we’ll always be family.”

Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka began to date following the end of her engagement to billionaire fiancee, James Packer.
