Nollywood has unveiled a revolutionary movie, Ruthless, which premiered on December 20, 2024, exclusively on Circuits, a premium video-on-demand platform dedicated to African cinema.
Directed by Dimeji Ajibola and produced by Vincent S. Okonkwo of VSL Media Limited, Ruthless is celebrated as West Africa’s inaugural female-led mixed martial arts (MMA) movie. The narrative centers on a young female fighter entangled in a perilous game between a merciless underground madam and an unforeseen adversary seeking vengeance.
The movie features a stellar cast, including Sandra Okunzuwa, Kate Henshaw, Chidi Mokeme, Princess Obuseh, and Zubby Michael, delivering exceptionally commendable performances that bring this intense story to life.
Circuits, the platform hosting Ruthless, offers a global pay-per-view streaming service for premium African movies, providing unreleased films and blockbusters during a 12-week window period. The service launched in December 2024, with Ruthless among its debut titles.
The movie is available for streaming at a price of ₦4,000, marking a significant move towards alternative distribution channels in Nollywood. This approach reflects the industry’s evolving landscape, embracing digital platforms to reach a broader audience.
