EURO 2016: Clattenburg to referee France-Portugal final

UEFA has chosen Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg to take charge of Sunday’s Euro 2016 final between France and Portugal.

Clattenburg will take the centre stage at the Stade de France just six weeks after refereeing the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in Milan.

The 41-year-old from County Durham also took charge of the FA Cup final at Wembley on 21 May when Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-1.

Two goals from Antoine Griezmann helped hosts France to beat Germany 2-0 on Thursday to reach the final.

Assistant referees Simon Beck and Jake Collin and additional assistants Anthony Taylor and Andre Marriner have also been appointed alongside Clattenburg.
