Music star Davido is now officially a graduate!

He was one of the graduands at the 13th Babcock University Convocation Ceremony which held yesterday.

In case you missed it, here are 10 things you should not about the graduation.

1. He was the only student of his department (Music) to graduate yesterday. This is because the music star was the pioneer student of the department which was set up three years ago by his dad.

2. According to Davido’s H.O.D (Head of department), Olusegun Ojuola, the department was set up by his dad. He said, ‘Well, it’s really a long journey, because it’s through the help of Dr Deji Adeleke that the department was developed over three and half years ago. But we actually started admitting (students) in 2012. The department is growing, right now, the population is 27, and I’m expecting a kind of population explosion next admission year because the number of students within the university that have shown interest to transfer from their departments to music is overwhelming. We also have students transferring from other university like Bells, Bowen, OAU and others.’

3. The occasion was graced by the Adelekes, Don Jazzy, Reekado Banks & Godswill Akpabio.

5. Oh by the way, despite his busy schedule, Davido is still a brilliant student! The Music Department’s HOD, Olusegun Ojuola revealed this to NET, “The Davido I know is an artiste, but the student I admitted into the department is Adedeji David Adeleke and the relationship has been like that all through. But I can tell you this much, that David is very, very brilliant.”

6. Davido is also very obedient, so says his H.O.D “He is a very obedient student. When I say ‘obedient’, you can see that in terms of humility. Any time David is in school, he knows he’s in school as a student.”

7. The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. J. A. Makinde, joked while presenting Davido’s certificate to him: ‘If you pay N200 million, you can be up here taking pictures with your son.’

Of course it was a joke, but the words seem true as Davido was the only graduating student that had the privilege of taking pictures with not just his dad but also the VC on the podium at the graduation ceremony.

9. Finally, he finished with a second class upper and not a first class as widely reported.
