The flood disaster in many parts of the country has seen hundreds of thousands of people displaced from their homes with no where to go.
Here you see a Battabox video in which a retired army officer, Colonel Paul Izukanne, takes us on a tour through Atani Village near the banks of the River Niger in Anambra State.
“The current is coming from both front and back so there is no remedy… there is no way to stop it,” Col. Paul explains in his effort to stop the water flowing into his home. “All is in vain – I will have to go the drawing-board to start again.”
Watch the video and see how a man can lose almost everything he has toiled for all his life and still somehow maintain a shocking sense of humour… or is it surrender?
If only the Niger river was truly dredged all this years that the FG has been using it for political gains with dams at intervals this would have not been this bad.
