Perhaps emboldened by the inaction of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration towards curbing their activities, the dreaded Fulani herdsmen have struck again.
This time in Korum, Orawua and Gidan Bature communities in Gassol Local Government Council of Taraba State.
About 13 persons were allegedly killed in the Saturday attack, which was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joseph.
The police spokesperson, however, failed to provide more details on the attack. The herdsmen are said to have attacked the villages around 2am.
According to the village head of Korum, about 8 cars were burnt and several persons injured are currently receiving treatment at the MDGs Clinic in Yerima; First Referral Hospital, Mutum Biyu; and Ityav Clinic also in Yerima.
The Special Adviser to the Taraba state Governor on Security Matters, Wonukem Agyo, disclosed that the Commanding Officers of 20 Battalion Serti and 93 Battalion Takum have been contacted to send their men to the areas attacked by the blood thirsty herdsmen.
Taraba is the home state of strong Buhari supporter and Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan (popularly known as Mama Taraba).
