The Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki has defended his sister, Gbemisola Saraki against accusations that she was an All Progressives Congress (APC) mole while in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

The former Kwara governor described such statements “cheap blackmail.”

Saraki, who spoke in an interview with newsmen in Ilorin on the landslide victory recorded by his party in the state said that apart from Muhammed Dele Belgore in PDP other members of the party were from Saraki’s political family stressing that the only difference was just that Gbemi was his biological sister.

“It is just a cheap blackmail. It means all of them in the PDP are moles. Apart from Dele Belgore, the rest are from Saraki’s political family. The only difference is just that Gbemi is my biological sister. Anybody can decamp to any other political party as long as it is not for personal and selfish reasons,’’ he said.

He also said that, the last general elections had put an end to the era of using power of incumbency to win elections in the country, as they had shown to various political office holders that power resides with the people.

Saraki also noted that the elections had shown the kind of change that Nigerians have been expecting in view of the determination and commitment that the people of the country have showed in the polls.

“Let me tell you that Nigerians can now enjoy the kind of leadership they have been expecting,’’ he added.
