Gunmen Thursday killed five persons at the Abaji Market in Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, The Punch reports.
According to the newspaper, the gunmen stormed the market shooting sporadically at people leaving some with life-threatening injuries in the violent attack.
Yesterday’s attack came barely three weeks after a market in Zaki Biam community in Ukum Local Government Area of the state was attacked and about 52 persons were killed.

The gunmen were said to have arrived in a Toyota car, alighted from the car and opened fire on the people.
An eyewitness said some unidentified persons had on Wednesday set several houses in the community ablaze and escaped.
The source said, “Some unidentified persons had, on the eve of the market day (Wednesday), sneaked into our village, set some houses ablaze and ran away, leaving many inhabitants in shock.”
