Facebook recently created a case study of leading Nigerian website: Naij.com about how it leveraged on Facebook Audience Network to improve its website visits, boost engagement and increase revenue.
The development of the news and media industry in Africa is often directly connected with economic growth and internet penetration. But rebuilding infrastructure to facilitate better internet connectivity —on top of creating, publishing, and marketing a first-rate media site— is ambitious for any company. So, NAIJ.com had to find a more innovative approach to achieve success.
Naij turned to Facebook and used Instant Articles when it launched to reach its user base most of whom had ‘’poor or costly’’ internet connections. Naij also leveraged on Free Basics by Facebook, which is part of the internet.org program, that allows users direct and free access to a list of platforms.
Naij’s story about how it has leveraged on Facebook Audience Network is one of the numerous examples of how publishers are using Facebook to scale their operations.
