Sacked! Appeal’s Court couldn’t help troubled Ifedayo Abegunde

by Godwin Akanfe

The Court of Appeal in Ondo state, has sacked the state Federal Lawmaker, Ifedayo Abegunde, thereby upholding the decision of the Federal High court in 2012.

It will be recalled that in 2012, the embattled House of Representatives Lawmaker, representing Akure South/North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, had been sacked by the high court in 2012 for jumping ship from the Labour Party (LP) through which he won his seat in the National Assembly to the Action Congress of Nigeria party (ACN), a few months after resuming duties in Abuja.

Abegunde tried to upturn the Hight Court’s decision in June 2012, after he filed a notice of appeal at the Court of Appeal, against the earlier judgement which declared his seat vacant.
