A new speaker has been elected by the  Ondo State House of Assembly, Jumoke Akindele representing Okitipupa Constituency II  of the state.

Akindele emerged a victor after getting majority votes at the state House of Assembly session in Akure this morning.

She became the first female speaker to emerge from Ondo state.

A lawyer by profession, Akindele until her election was the Chairman, House Committee on Education in the house.
