The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it would begin the nationwide continuous voters registration exercise on Thursday, April 27, 2017.
National Commissioner and Acting Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Amina Zakari, said in a statement on Wednesday.
Zakari said the decision was taken at a meeting with the Resident Electoral Commissioners and the Administrative Secretaries from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

She said the exercise will take place on weekdays from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 3pm.
Zakari added that Nigerians who are yet to collect their permanent voter cards would have the opportunity to collect them.
Zakari stated that registration centres would be opened in all the local government offices of the commission or other suitable locations.
She advised Nigerians against double registration, stating that it was a crime.
