Lamar Odom’s downward spiral just took a turn for the worse.
The NBA player, 33, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs early Friday morning, according to a police report obtained by the Daily News.
Odom was behind the wheel of a white Mercedes SUV driving eastbound on Los Angeles’ 101 Freeway, not far from the Tarzana, Calif., home he shares with wife Khloe Kardashian, at the time of his arrest, cops said.
Law enforcement sources told the LA Times that Odom had been driving in a “serpentine manner” at 50 mph, significantly slower than the speed limit of 65 miles an hour.
The 6-foot-10 former Laker was even slower to respond to cops’ requests to pull over — driving past three exits within a two-mile stretch before leaving the freeway and coming to a stop on Coldwater Canyon Boulevard..
The police report described Odom as showing “objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated.” He refused, however, to submit to further chemical tests after his arrest.
“A chemical test is what is used to test for the presence of alcohol and drugs in the system and in this case Mr. Odom refused to submit,” Sgt. Denise Joslin, public information coordinator for the California Highway Patrol, told the News.
Joslin said the athlete is facing an automatic year-long suspension of his driver’s license under California law for failing to comply.
Odom is being held at Van Nuys jail on $15,000 bail.
