The Katsina state Police Command has arrested a 419 syndicate who dupe unsuspecting victims by presenting themselves as ‘spirits’.
The suspects were paraded by the police on Thursday, Channels Television reports.
Speaking to newsmen in Katsina, the state capital, the Force Public Relations Officer, Mr Sanni Agaisa, alleged that the syndicate specialised in telling victims they could help them in life and business after presenting themselves as ‘spirits’.
According to Agaisa the syndicate duped one Mallam Jibril of about 13 million Naira and another Mrs Shamsudeen of about six million Naira.
However the suspects denied the claim saying they collected only 500,000 Naira.
The State Commissioner Usman Abdullahi said the matter was being investigated.
