After over 25 years in business, Mall of America will host an African-American Santa.
A native of Texas, Larry Jefferson has been chosen to play the role of Santa.
“It’s no big deal, I’m still Santa, I just happen to be a Santa of Color,” Jefferson told CNN affiliate WCCO.
Jefferson will spend four days on a strictly by appointment basis taking pictures with families and listening to Christmas wishes.
“We are looking to have a Santa for everyone,” Santa Experience owner Landon Luther told WCCO.
Luther chose Jefferson, who was the only black Santa out of 1,000 Santas at the Santa Convention in Missouri.
