The Ogun State Police Command on Sunday announced the arrest of  three students – Kenneth Mokwunye, 24, Adigun David, 18, and Okwuma Obiora, 17 – of ICT Polytechnic, Igbesa, in the Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

The suspects were arrested by the Anti Crime Patrol team attached to the Agbara Division of the command around 2 pm on Friday for threatening another student of that same institution with initiation to become a member of the Vikings confraternity.

The command’s spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, DSP, said “the suspects had been threatening to kill a colleague of theirs for failing to join their cult group but this didn’t go well with the student who eventually raised alarm for his safety.”

Adejobi also stated that “the Commissioner of Police Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye gave credit to the victimized student for exposing the antics and threats of the suspected cultists. He lauded his courage and exposure and advised other students who experience such to reveal their ordeals in the hands of these devilish cultists to security operatives in order to save their lives and that of others”.
