Oklahoma City Thunder’s plane ends up with massive hollow in nose caused by a “bird”

The Oklahoma City Thunder‘s team jet suffered serious damage – to the nose – after turbulence mid-flight from Minnesota to Chicago.

The team were quite “surprised” after disembarking to find the actual done to the plane.

The damage is usually caused by lightning or hailstones but Delta Airlines have revealed that it was a bird that managed to wreck the plane.

Power forward Josh Huestis posted this side-on image of the plane's nose with the caption: 'I guess we hit something? 30,000 feet up...'

A Delta Airlines spokesperson, Victoria Wolf has said: “Delta flight 8935, operating from Minneapolis to Chicago-Midway as a charter flight for the Oklahoma City Thunder, likely encountered a bird while on descent into Chicago.

The aircraft, a Boeing 757-200, landed safely without incident; customers have since deplaned and maintenance is evaluating. Safety is Delta’s top priority.”

But despite the “rough flight”, it has been confirmed that all passengers and staff were unharmed and were safe.

One of the players, Carmelo Anthony posted on Instagram, “What possibly could we have hit in the SKY at this time of night? Everyone is Safe, Though. ‘All Praise Due’ #ThunderStrong“.
